What to Expect When we Come to Your School
Our engaging presentations are designed to resonate with your audience, and are customized for each group. For younger audiences (kindergarten to grade 3), we suggest setting aside 15-30 minutes for the presentation, while sessions for grade 4 to adult are ideally extended to 60 minutes to delve deeper into the subject matter. Additionally, we offer a hands-on stencil activity that will follow the presentation, a highlight of our program, lasting between 10 to 30 minutes based on group size. This interactive exercise is best conducted in a spacious, well-ventilated area, such as outdoors or a large indoor space like a gymnasium or library, a, we can adapt it to suit various settings. Please note that the Moccasin Identifier™ Team will supply all necessary materials, including stencils, paint, paper, paint trays, and rollers, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience.
We will reference the MCFN Treaty and Traditional Territory Map during our presentation.
Preparing for our Team's Arrival
To maximize the impact of our visit and the stencil activity, we recommend integrating the Moccasin Identifier educational lessons into your curriculum in the weeks prior. This foundational knowledge will culminate in the stenciling activity, allowing students to ground their learning through a meaningful act of Treaty.
Upon our team’s arrival, we kindly ask for someone to meet us at the entrance.
We will need to be guided to the main presentation area, where a projector, screen, and an HDMI cord for our laptop will be necessary.
If we are presenting to a large group, a speaker system will also be helpful.
Depending on the needs of our team and attendees, we may also require specific accessibility accommodations, such as easy access to the venue and a comfortable chair.
